Long Time No Hair

Sorry for the hiatus, everyone. A newborn baby tends to put everything else on the back burner.

Caleb it doing great. Almost 6 weeks old! He has a good schedule at night, so Kathy and I get enough sleep (though not as much as we'd like). But we have some college friends coming in tomorrow, and we might get a babysitter (for the first time) so we can have some well-earned time off.

And one more bit of news: I'm trying a new hairstyle, which I love. Bald By Choice baby!

Why football is really great

When holding a crying baby, you only hear the TV during the baby's gasps for air. When the screams come, everything's on mute. Thus, its really hard to watch a TV show and understand whats going on. This is yet another reason why football is so awesome. No words necessary! I'll always know when my team gets a first down, no matter how many times my baby screams into my ear.

I might be a redneck if...

I haven't had a lot of time recently to do usual household chores, what with the new baby and all. One of the most-neglected chores was mowing the lawn. Until today. But because the weeds had grown so high, my ghetto push mower wouldn't have made a dent. Thus...I mowed my entire front and back yard with my weed whacker! Fatherhood is awesome! I guess this is how it starts. Its only a matter of time until I start wearing black socks with sandals.

But anyway, here's another picture. Its an oldie but a goodie, from the first of hour of Caleb's life on Earth.

Back By Popular Demand: More Pictures

The first two photos are Caleb's first moments in his crib. You can tell he loved it!
I'm running on fumes in the third photo.
The last photo is Caleb with his two cousins on Kathy's side. Lucy is holding him. Evie is next in line.

We're going to the Greek festival today. Our first family outing, and on such a beautiful day! Can't wait to upload some pictures from our trip later.

Job Opening

Wanted: Magical babysitter who can read newborn minds and who never sleeps and who can make said baby never cry.

On a different note: Our dog, Presley, has been very well-behaved. She's very tired from spending the last few days with four other dogs, three kids, and one big yard. But she seems to sense that something's different. She hasn't been begging for our attention, like she used to. When she sees us taking care of Caleb, she shows a brief interest, and then goes somewhere to lay down. Sometimes she lays down right next to Caleb, but doesn't pester him.

We're Home!

Hi Everyone,

We just got back from the hospital, and Mom and Caleb are doing well. We finally got Caleb to sleep after a few feedings and diaper changes.

Here are five pictures (Blogger will only let me post five at a time). So keep on coming back. I'll post more in the future.

Kathy and I can't wait for everyone to see Caleb in person!
